Fear and Loathing in the Workplace

Work Choices is such a misnomer. Employer Choices would seem to be a better name. Solidarity has a very useful role to play in monitoring the new situation as the implementation of the very complicated and confusing new laws are tested. (Genghis) Kevin (Kahn) Andrews describes it as a significant but fair change. I am sure others would characterise it as significantly unfair. As Tim Dunlop, so eloquently put it, I mean, what a friggin' shock. Who would've predicted that by banning unions, making it easier to sack workers and pay lower wages that employers would have banned unions, sacked workers and paid lower wages? Hello
An expert last night predicted that legal test cases were going to be required to interpret some aspects of the law. Lawyers write confusing legislation and lawyers get paid again to interpret it for the poor unfortunate employees who are victimised by the perceived opportunity of the legislation. Pork Choices for Employers. Poor Choices for Workers.
